Azerbaijan to boost wind, solar energy generation over 7-fold in 4 years

Energy production at wind and solar power plants in Azerbaijan is projected to reach 715.1 gigawatt-hours next year, according to Azerbaijan's state budget envelope for 2025, Report informs.
Forecasts suggest that by 2026, this figure will increase 5.2 times to 3,753.2 gigawatt-hours. In 2027, the production volume is expected to reach 4,554.4 gigawatt-hours, representing a 21.3% increase compared to the 2026 forecast.
By 2028, wind and solar energy production is anticipated to rise to 5,203.5 gigawatt-hours, which is 14.2% higher than the 2027 forecast. Overall, energy production at wind and solar power plants in Azerbaijan is set to grow 7.3 times over the next four years.
Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of 2024, production at solar power plants in Azerbaijan amounted to 485.3 million kWh, while wind power plants produced 45.6 million kWh.
