Azerbaijan sees over 14% increase in oil refining

In January-March 2022, oil refining in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.6 million tons, the Energy Ministry reports with reference to the operational data on oil and gas production in the country for the first quarter of the year, Report informs.
Oil refining was 200,000 tons or 14.3% less than the same period last year.
SOCAR's Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery is the only oil refining complex in the region and provides most of Azerbaijan's fuel needs. The plant produces 15 types of oil products, including gasoline, jet fuel, diesel fuel, fuel oil, petroleum coke, etc.
Founded in 1953, SOCAR's Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery is currently undergoing the second and third stages of modernization and reconstruction.
