Azerbaijan’s solar power production up about 22% in January 

The output in the sector of electric power, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 316.8 million ($186.3 billion) in January 2023, up 8.3% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 15.4%, settling at 35 million manats ($20.6 million).

Azerbaijan produced 2,602.3 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 8.1 from the previous year. Of this, 2,532 million kWh were commercial electricity, 8.2% more than the last year.

The hydropower plants produced 64.1 million kWh of electricity, 14.9% less than a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 2,459.5 million kWh of energy, 9.1% more than in 2022.

Wind power production fell 31.3% to 4.6 million kWh, and solar power production increased by 21.9% to 3.8 million kWh.
