Azerbaijan increases solar power production by 60% in January 

The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 277.7 million manats in January 2022, up 6% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 5.1%, settling at 33.7 million manats.

Azerbaijan produced 2,406.5 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 8.1% from the previous year.

The hydropower plants produced 75.3 million kWh of electricity, 0.4% higher than a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 2,254.7 million kWh of energy, 9% more than 2020.

Wind power production fell 25.6% to 6.7 million kWh, and solar power production went up by 60% to 3.2 million kWh.
