Azerbaijan increases power export

Over the first nine months of 2021, about 20.7 billion kWh of electricity was produced in the country, an increase of 6.2% compared to the same period last year, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said in an article, entitled "A new era of Azerbaijani energy begins in Karabakh and East Zangazur" published in Respublika newspaper dedicated to the October 20 - Energy Day, Report informs.
In his opinion, 120,400,000 kWh of electricity was imported and 1.03 billion kWh of electricity was exported over this period: “Exports increased by 189 million kWh compared to the same period last year. 544,900,000 kWh of electricity was exported to Georgia, 250,400,000 kWh to Iran, 163,600,000 kWh to Turkey, and 71,400,000 kWh to Russia."
The minister added that the volume of imports was 70,900,000 kWh from Russia, 24,900,000 kWh from Iran, and 24,600,000 kWh from Georgia.
