Azerbaijan begins RON-92 gasoline imports from Belarus, Latvia

Azerbaijan imported 87,775 tons of RON-92 gasoline, valued at just over $77.72 million, during the first nine months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the imports grew by 36.5 percent in volume and rose by 30.5 percent in value.
In January-September of this year, Azerbaijan purchased 47,753 tons (+2.7 times) of RON-92 from Russia worth $38.44 million (+2.7 times), 24,995 tons (+19%) from Lithuania worth $24.9 million (+10%), 6,807 tons from Belarus worth $6.2 million, 5,134 tons from Bulgaria worth $5.3 million (no supply a year ago), 1,875 tons from Latvia worth $1.87 million, and 1,211 tons from Kazakhstan worth $1.1 million (no supply a year ago).
In 2024, Azerbaijan imported RON-92 gasoline from Belarus and Latvia for the first time in 13 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
Additionally, imports from Bulgaria have resumed after a hiatus of 6 years and 5 months, while imports from Kazakhstan have recommenced after a gap of 2 years and 3 months.
