Azerbaijan bans use of incandescent bulbs

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the Law "On the Efficient Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency", adopted by the Parliament on April 11, Report informs.
According to the amendments, the import, production, and sale of incandescent electric lamps that can be used for lighting in alternating current circuits is prohibited, with the exception of incandescent lamps specifically designed for use in production processes and products whose primary purpose is not lighting.
The ban will come into force on January 1, 2026, for incandescent lamps with a power of 60 W and above, and for incandescent lamps with a power of 25 W (inclusive) up to 60 W - from July 1, 2026.
