Anar Azimov: Agricultural sector should train skilled specialists

Specialists with high technical skills who can solve problems should be trained for the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan, said Anar Azimov, Deputy Chairman of the Agro Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Report informs.

Speaking at a conference titled "World Food Safety Day: Science in Action" in Baku, Azimov noted that higher education institutions should not only be places where education is conducted, but also become centers where future professionals develop and their potential is revealed.

"Food safety is a multifaceted field, and we need to prepare specialists with knowledge covering various specialties for this field," he said.

The official further mentioned that dangerous foods cause a number of diseases, and this negatively affects not only public health but also trade: "Loss of consumer confidence can ultimately lead to economic decline. The field of food safety directly affects the overall welfare and development of the country. In this context, the role of higher education institutions should also come to the forefront."
