The book "Iravan: Historical Facts and Personalities", published in both Azerbaijani and English, sheds light on both well-known and previously unknown facts about this ancient Azerbaijani city, Farida Safiyeva, Chair of the public association Kainat, told Report.
She noted that the book consists of two parts and traces the history of Iravan starting from the khanate period. "It details the transformation of Iravan and Western Azerbaijan into a monoethnic state, and provides information on the city's architecture, historical monuments, schools, and theaters. All of this is presented in an encyclopedic format with illustrations. The main goal of the book is to concisely and clearly present the truth about Iravan to foreigners living abroad and in Azerbaijan, in a way that aligns with modern standards," she said.
Safiyeva emphasized that the book also features paintings by renowned artists. "For example, a detailed depiction of Iravan by a French artist clearly shows it as a Muslim city. So if someone in France claims Iravan is not an Azerbaijani city, we can present this artwork and prove, in their own language, that Iravan is Azerbaijani," she added.
