Deputy minister: Heydar Aliyev paid close attention to education

National leader Heydar Aliyev paid close attention to the education sector in Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan Firudin Gurbanov said in Astrakhan during the conference “Trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Astrakhan region: current state and prospects,” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, Report informs.

He reminded that during the presidency of Heydar Aliyev, the education program was reformed.

“We tried to create our own model of education that would meet our cultural and national interests,” he said.

The deputy minister stressed that every year Russia provides quotas for the education of Azerbaijani students, and branches of two Russian universities operate in Baku - Moscow State University and the Sechenov Moscow State Medical University.

“I hope that our ties in the field of education will continue to deepen, and the idea of our national leader will live in our hearts,” Gurbanov concluded.
