Baku. 22 February. REPORT.AZ/ Zahra Salmanli, the fifth grade student of Baku secondary school № 95 of the Baku city Department of Education, objected the hanging of the Azerbaijani flag under the Armenian in a sports competition held in Iran.
Report informs citing the department that the case happened at the place where the tournament was held.
Salmanli said she would not participate in the tournament if the Azerbaijani flag was not hung in the appropriate place. The schoolgirl joined the tournament after the flag was hung in a different and more appropriate place, and rose to the highest stage of the pedestal, beating all her rivals in karate.
Notably, Zahra Salmanli, who also defeated an Armenian athlete, was awarded a gold medal and diploma.
