The first meeting of university rectors of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan aimed at strengthening partnership in higher education was held in Andijan (Uzbekistan), 60 different documents were signed, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan.
"The meeting participants discussed the prospects for the exchange of students and scientists, the creation of joint educational programs and scientific research, improving the quality of training specialists and scientific research of both sides," reads the message.
The parties also reached an agreement on organizing internships and international seminars to develop academic mobility of students and teachers. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan Idris Isayev and Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Daliyev.
They noted the importance of building long-term cooperation and declared their readiness to strengthen interaction in the educational sphere.
"As a result of the discussions, about 60 different agreements and protocols of intent were concluded, covering a wide range of areas: from academic exchange to the development of joint research projects. The signed documents symbolize the beginning of a new stage of cooperation in the field of higher education and science," reads the message.
