Baku. 8 September. REPORT.AZ/ 788 Azerbaijanis have entered the Georgian universities this year.
Report's Georgian bureau informs that Azerbaijanis constituted a majority among Georgian university entrants on '1+4' program envisaged for national minorities for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Of them, 99 will attend the Georgian language courses of the universities on 100% grants. Most of Azerbaijani young people - 253 entered the Georgian Technical University.
Notably, the '1+4' program has been developed specially for the national minorities living in Georgia. In line with the program, the school leavers pass general exams in Azerbaijani, Armenian and Ossetian languages. The students entering the universities learn the Georgian language for one year and them get an opportunity to study for Bachelor's Degree in their specialty. By the end of the year students who manage to score 60 credit points will be able to continue their education at the faculty they choose.
