More than 8 million trees were planted in Azerbaijan last year, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev said during a tree-planting campaign in the country's Northern region on Feb.1, Report informs.
The minister emphasized that in 2024 alone, more than 20,000 trees were planted in Guba by executive authorities within the framework of the Green World Solidarity Year.
"Today's tree-planting campaigns are dedicated to February 2 - Youth Day. It is encouraging that public representatives are also actively participating in the tree-planting process. Special attention is paid to the development of trees planted during the campaigns," said Mukhtar Babayev.
Within the framework of forest restoration measures, more than 8,000 trees were planted in open and sparse areas of forest fund lands in Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, and Shabran districts.
