COP29 President: Global sea levels have risen more than twice as fast as before over past decade

Over the past decade, global sea levels have risen more than twice as fast as before, according to Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and President-designate of COP29, Report informs.
Speaking at the high-level dialogue on climate transparency, Babayev highlighted the risks these changes pose to small island states.
He emphasized the common complications related to climate change and stressed the importance of adhering to the Paris Agreement to ensure successful climate action at COP29.
Transparency is a key part of these efforts, he stated.
