A geomagnetic storm is expected on Earth from today until May 24, a source at the chair of astrophysics of the physics faculty of the Baku State University told Report.
A G1 (minor) geomagnetic storm is likely to occur on May 22-24 due to CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) and high-speed streams coming out of CH HSS (Coronal Hole High-Speed Stream).
The intensity of the geomagnetic storm on May 22 will reach the level of G2 (medium magnetic storm). A G1 (minor) geomagnetic storm will be observed on May 23-24.
On May 22-24, the logarithmic coefficient Kp, which indicates the intensity of the geomagnetic field, will range between 1 and 6.
