Adviser to Minister: Climate change, its consequences don’t recognize political boundaries

Climate change and its consequences do not recognize political boundaries, Rustam Hasanov, adviser to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, said at a panel titled "The Role of Food Systems: Integration of Human, Animal, and Environmental Health" held within the framework of the conference World Food Safety Day: Science in Action.

Report quotes Hasanov as saying people sometimes do not realize that even a one-degree increase in temperature lead to climate change that causes consequences:

"But this change has very negative effects on the balance of the environment in the long-term perspective. Government agencies are aware of this. For this reason, we try to use existing tools as effectively as possible."
