Women make up 50.2% of Azerbaijan’s population

At the beginning of 2024, women made up 50.2% of Azerbaijan’s total population, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.
According to the information, of the 112,600 children born last year, 46.9% were girls.
Azerbaijani women actively participate in the socio-economic life of the country, with their share in the total employed population, according to preliminary data, making 47.9%.
The share of women is 29.4% among civil servants, and 22.7% among individual entrepreneurs.
