Shooting of documentary about Azerbaijanis under 54-day Armenian siege gets underway

Shooting of a documentary about 19 Azerbaijanis who were under Armenian siege for 54 days from March 31 to May 23, 1993 is underway with the support of Global Media Group.

According to Report, the protagonists of the documentary "Parabuzen" (Ladybug) visited the Kalbajar and Lachin regions, where the events developed 29 years ago.

The visit started from the Chaikend village of Kalbajar, where 19 people were besieged, and continued to the Oguldara village of Lachin, where they remained under siege.

The film crew climbed the mountains about 10 km from Oghuldara and filmed the houses and caves where the group once sheltered.

The expedition members shared their memories of how they were surrounded, how they hid from the enemy for 54 days, and broke through the enemy's siege.

The shooting was completed in the Gulabird village of Lachin, where the siege ended.

Imdad Alizada, the editor of Report News Agency and the son of once besieged Ali Aliyev, a veteran of the First Karabakh War, also participated in the visit. He and the film's screenwriter, chairman of the Azerbaijan Journalists' Network Public Union, Ayaz Mirzayev, also gave a short interview about the film. The documentary will be premiered soon.
