Participants of joint meeting of ASOSAI and ARABOSAI to visit Shusha

The delegation headed by Hou Kai, the head of the National Audit Office of China and Secretary General of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions, who is visiting Azerbaijan, will travel to Shusha.

Report informs that this was discussed during the secretary general's meeting with the Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, at the parliament.

Sahiba Gafarova informed the visitors about Azerbaijan's liberation of its territories from occupation as a result of the Patriotic War, and the extensive construction and development work being carried out there.

The speaker of the Milli Majlis noted the importance of the 62nd meeting of the Governing Board of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) held in Baku and the joint event with the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), emphasizing that holding such an international meeting in Azerbaijan is proof of the country's commitment to financial accountability, independent audit, and international cooperation in these areas.

During the conversation, the speaker provided information to the visitors about the Milli Majlis, the legislative body of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and its operating principles, representation of political parties, protection of gender equality in parliament, and the committees and commissions of the parliament.

During the conversation, Hou Kai, the head of the National Audit Office of China and Secretary General of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions, noted that thanks to Azerbaijan's organization, members of ASOSAI and ARABOSAI associations have had the opportunity to come together at the crossroads of East and West to discuss the development of public sector auditing.

The visitor spoke about public sector auditing being an important component of the national control system and its irreplaceable role in the socio-economic development of all countries. He also shared his thoughts on Azerbaijan's role in protecting global environmental security, the successful hosting of COP29 in Azerbaijan, and the important issues discussed there, conveying his wishes for peace and sustainable development to Azerbaijan.
