Emin Huseynov: New schools, kindergartens under construction in Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli, Aghdam

New schools and kindergartens are being built in Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli and Aghdam districts, stated Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, Report informs.

Speaking at the 7th ADA Political Forum, themed "Towards a New World Order" and held at Karabakh University on April 8, Huseynov highlighted that Azerbaijan's territories were completely devastated during the occupation period:

"What we saw after the occupation was only ruins. Everything was stolen. No cultural monuments or untouched mosques remained, not even trees. This demonstrates the immense challenges the reconstruction process is facing."

Huseynov noted significant progress in mine clearance over the past five years and outlined key infrastructure projects in the region:

"An airport has been constructed, along with four water reservoirs, two hydroelectric power stations, and three main pipelines. Additionally, the development of eight residential neighborhoods is planned, with one already completed. Villages are being designed and developed, and two residential areas are currently under construction."

He also emphasized ongoing efforts in the education sector:

"Five schools and kindergartens are being built in Fuzuli and Aghdam. Alongside reconstruction, cultural and historical restoration projects are also underway. One notable example is the Juma Mosque in Aghdam—the only structure that remained standing, though it was completely desecrated because pigs and cows were kept in this mosque.”
