The Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council of Azerbaijanis (EAPCA) has strongly rejected and expressed protest against the unilateral and biased resolution adopted by the Belgian House of Representatives on July 17 regarding Azerbaijan.
Report informs, citing the official statement issued by the council, that the adopted resolution not only contradicts fundamental norms of international law, particularly the principles of state sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs, but also undermines efforts to ensure peace, security, and cooperation in the South Caucasus region:
"We regret to note that the resolution is based on biased, one-sided, and manipulative information, resulting in a distortion of the legitimate and internationally lawful position of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Such an approach undermines constructive efforts to establish sustainable peace in the region and reflects unilateral political prejudice. As the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council of Azerbaijanis, we call on the Belgian Parliament to act responsibly and objectively in promoting peace and mutual trust in the South Caucasus," the EAPCA statement reads.
The organization also expressed full support for the efforts of the Azerbaijani state aimed at achieving peace and stability in the region:
"We urge the international community to take a balanced position on this issue. As a diaspora organization operating in the Euro-Atlantic space, we will continue to defend the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests of Azerbaijan in international forums."
