Candidacy of 16 persons for Azerbaijan parliamentary elections registered

Some 1,048 people in 125 constituencies applied to be candidates for the snap parliamentary elections to be held on September 1, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said at today's meeting, Report informs.
Panahov noted that the nomination of 700 people was approved: "As many as 609 of them took signature sheets, 57 returned their signature sheets, and the candidacies of 16 persons have been registered up to date."
