Baku declaration on decolonization and compensation adopted

The Baku Declaration on scientific commitments regarding decolonization and compensation was adopted at the international academic conference "Imperial Structure: Between Colonial Ideologies and Realities", held on June 3 in Baku.
According to Report, the document reaffirms the participants' commitment to human rights, academic freedom, justice, and global efforts toward decolonization.
Special attention is given to the need for studying the consequences of colonialism in modern societies and the role of science in overcoming those consequences.
Participants also expressed their intention to establish an International Platform for Decolonization Research and Knowledge to strengthen cooperation, support young researchers, and promote intellectual pluralism.
The importance of involving marginalized communities in scientific dialogue and engaging with international organizations was also emphasized.
