Azerbaijan's Media Development Agency slams Radio Free Europe's manipulative reporting

Radio Free Europe, a US Congress-funded broadcaster, attempts to manipulate public opinion regarding the early elections to Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, the Media Development Agency (MEDIA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan said in a statement, according to Report.

According to the statement, Radio Free Europe has been sharing biased information from unknown sources under the guise of anonymous "journalist notes." The agency emphasized that this practice is a misuse of the journalist's name and clearly violates the principles of media ethics.

"We consider attempts to mislead public opinion through media manipulation methods unacceptable and condemn them," the statement reads.

The agency also pointed out that all foreign media entities accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan have received approval from the Central Election Commission to cover the elections, based on their applications. However, Radio Free Europe has not submitted any application in this regard.
