Azerbaijan’s 2023 demining report: over 53,000 hectares cleared

In 2023, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and state and non-state institutions carried out demining operations in a total of 53,081.8 hectares, Report informs, with reference to the Cabinet of Ministers.
During these operations, a substantial number of 31,600 mines and unexploded ordnances were detected and safely neutralized.
Of this, 29,005.6 hectares covered areas for agriculture, 814.8 hectares for transport, 11,720.5 hectares for residential infrastructure, 1,470.9 hectares for energy projects, and 10,070.0 hectares for various other initiatives.
