Azerbaijan launches criminal investigation into AZAL plane crash in Kazakhstan

The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has initiated a criminal case in connection with the crash of an AZAL plane near Aktau, Kazakhstan, Report informs citing the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Following the crash of the aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) in Aktau, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan has opened a criminal case under Articles 262.3 (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of air transport, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence) and 314.3 (negligence resulting in the death of two or more persons). The preliminary investigation has been assigned to the Investigative Department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
