Azerbaijan establishing commission on return to Western Azerbaijan

“We have many facts, documents and witness statements about the crimes committed against our compatriots on the territory of Armenia during the last deportation,” Chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community Aziz Alakbarli said during the public hearing on "Return to West Azerbaijan: Legal Aspects" organized by the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Committee for Law Policy and State-Building, Report informs.

The head of the community recalled that following the request of the Western Azerbaijan Community, the Prosecutor General's Office took appropriate steps in this direction and this work is ongoing.

Alakbarli said that Western Azerbaijan is the historical land of Azerbaijan until the last inch of the territory of Armenia, and the struggle will continue until the last inch of these lands is returned: "There is a great need for the knowledge and experience of our lawyers in determining and implementing the legal aspects of the implementation of this historical task. For this purpose, work is underway to form a Law Commission in the Western Azerbaijan Community. Some members of that commission are also participating in this event today, and I would like to use this opportunity to ask all our lawyers to cooperate closely with this commission."
