Azerbaijan achieving withdrawal of illegal Armenian armed groups from Karabakh through political diplomacy

“We have liberated the lands occupied by Armenia for 30 years as a result of the correct policy of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, who won the 44-day war. The enemy knelt down, begged, signed an act of capitulation, and a tripartite statement. Azerbaijan is still achieving the withdrawal of illegal Armenian armed groups from the uncontrolled parts of Karabakh through political diplomacy,” Javid Osmanov, a member of the board of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), told Report.

He said that Azerbaijan is gradually achieving this: “Because, in accordance with paragraph 4 of the trilateral statement signed on November 10, 2020, all illegal Armenian armed forces must be disarmed and expelled from the territory. The Russian peacekeeping contingent should have ensured the implementation of all items of the trilateral declaration, especially this item. It is the Armenian side that is trying to divert the attention of the world community and make various provocative statements in order to evade the implementation of the provisions of the tripartite statement. Armenia is deliberately trying to aggravate the situation in order to attract the attention of the international community.”

“The fact that the Armenian Foreign Ministry has made various statements on issues related to the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan is a clear proof of this. I think that the Armenian Foreign Ministry should put an end to this practice and deal with the foreign policy of its country. Because this is another manifestation of the intervention in the territory of Azerbaijan and the territorial claim against our country,” he added.

Osmanov stressed that these territories are ancient and historical lands of Azerbaijan: “Territorial claims against Azerbaijan are unfounded, otherwise it will lead to serious consequences for the Armenian side.”
