991 candidates to participate in Azerbaijan parliamentary elections

As many as 991 candidates will participate in the snap parliamentary elections to be held on September 1 in Azerbaijan, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Rovzat Gasimov told journalists, Report informs.

According to Gasimov, it is the last stage of the election process: "Some 6,516,567 ballots were printed by the decision of the commission. The names of 991 candidates were mentioned in the ballots."

The CEC official also noted that, thus far, the candidates' campaign activities have been conducted in a calm atmosphere.
