The provocation committed by the armed forces of Armenia on the state border with Azerbaijan caused the protest of the Azerbaijani diaspora organizations in the United States, Report informs, citing the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
The Coordination Council of American Azerbaijanis operating in the United States issued a statement addressing the local and international community regarding the large-scale provocation caused by the units of the Armenian armed forces on September 12, 2022.
The statement provides detailed information about the losses that occurred as a result of military provocation, drawing attention to the reasons for Armenia's aggressive action against international law. According to the statement, Armenia's political and military leadership bears all responsibility for this large-scale provocation, conflict, and losses: "These steps of Armenia are completely contrary to the normalization and peace processes in the South Caucasus. At a time when large-scale restoration and construction works are being carried out in these territories of our historical Motherland that were liberated from occupation, Armenia's aggression once again shows that it hinders this process at all costs."
The Coordination Council demanded the international community increase efforts towards taking practical steps at the level of international law, putting an end to the Armenian side's ideas of revanchism and inviting them to peace in order to prevent such situations from happening again.
The joint statement issued by Azerbaijani diaspora organizations on the incident that took place on September 13 was sent by Adika Iqbal, the President of the Azerbaijan Friendship Organization operating in North Carolina, to the White House, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Erika Olson, Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis.
The members of the Azerbaijani community expressed their deep concern about another blow dealt by the official Yerevan to the peace talks between the two countries and demanded that the international community intensify the pressure on Armenia to prevent its aggressive policy.
Azerbaijani youths living and operating in the US state of Florida also strongly protested the large-scale provocation committed by Armenia on the state border with Azerbaijan. The statement signed by the Nabat Eminova, Founder and President of the Azerbaijani American Youth Association, and addressed to the local and international community, gave detailed information about the next war crime committed by Armenia and drew attention to the causes of this bloody tragedy.
According to the statement, the military and political leadership of Armenia bears all responsibility for the provocation, members of the Azerbaijani community: "We express our deep concern about another blow dealt by official Yerevan to the norms of international law and the peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We demand that the international community condemn Armenia's unacceptable behavior."
The Azerbaijani community living in the US state of Texas addressed the local and international community regarding the September 12 provocation. The statement signed by the President of the US-Azerbaijan Center Of Integration (USACI), Samir Novruzov, provided detailed information about the military provocation of Armenia and drew attention to the reasons for this aggression. It was noted in the statement that the military and political leadership of Armenia bears all responsibility for the provocation, confrontation, and losses.
According to the statement, these actions taken by Armenia are completely inconsistent with the process of normalization and peace: "Despite Armenia's aggressive attacks, the Azerbaijani state is carrying out large-scale reconstruction and construction work in the liberated territories. This once again shows that Armenia hinders the peace process in every possible way. We demand the international community take practical steps at the level of international law, increase efforts towards putting an end to the Armenian side's ideas of revanchism, and inviting them to peace in order to prevent such situations from happening again."
The statement signed by Tohfa Eminova, Founder and President of the Azerbaijani-American Cultural Association of Florida, and addressed to the local and international community, gave detailed information about the provocation. The statement said that the Azerbaijani community living in Florida is deeply concerned about another blow dealt by official Yerevan to the peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Azerbaijanis pointed out that Armenia, which pursues an aggressive policy, is a severe obstacle to the sustainable peace process in the region and called on the international community to take decisive steps to prevent this unacceptable behavior and push official Yerevan to peace.
The Utah-Azerbaijan Friendship Organization operating in the US state of Utah appealed to the officials of the United States regarding the incidents that occurred on September 12-13. In a letter signed by Asmar Garayeva, the chairman of the Utah-Azerbaijan Friendship Organization, addressed to US President Joseph Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Senators Mitt Romney, Mike Lee, and Congressman Chris Stewart, detailed information was provided about the losses that occurred as a result of Armenia's military provocation. The letter drew attention to the reasons for this aggressive act, which is incompatible with international legal norms.
We, the Americans of Azerbaijani origin living in the State of Utah, express our deep concern about the continued aggression of Armenia against the independent state of Azerbaijan. We firmly declare that these actions of Armenia do not correspond to the process of normalization of relations between the two countries and the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus region. We call on you to condemn Armenia's ongoing aggression against Azerbaijan and to intensify your efforts to take practical steps at the international level to prevent such provocations from happening again," the letter said.
The non-governmental organization "US Azerbaijanis Network" (USAN) has started a letter campaign to protest against the military provocation committed by the units of the Armenian armed forces along the borders of Azerbaijan.
The letter drew attention to the fact that the military provocation occurred after Nikol Pashinyan, the prime minister of the aggressor country, returned from the Eastern Economic Forum held in Russia, successful peace talks in Brussels, and Azerbaijan's statement on increasing gas supplies to Europe by 30% this year.
It was pointed out in the letter that even though the Azerbaijani Army responds swiftly to Armenian armed provocations, it is very important to inform officials about the purposeful actions of Armenia against Azerbaijan, an ally of the United States. USAN urged our compatriots to participate in the letter campaign actively.
