One of the joyful aspects in the "Shusha - Cultural Capital of the Islamic World" for 2024 was that former internally displaced persons (IDPs) are now returning to Shusha, living and working there, said Aydin Karimov, Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in the Shusha district, Report informs.

Karimov made the remark at the closing ceremony of the "Shusha - Cultural Capital of the Islamic World" for 2024.

According to him, the Ashaghi Govhar Agha and Chol Gala mosques in Shusha have been restored in a short period of time.

"The house museum of the great composer Uzeyir Hajibayli has also been opened after the restoration process," he added.

Karimov further highlighted that more than 1,400 residents are already living in the city of Shusha.

"Restoration and construction work continues in the city, and the correct and timely implementation of President Ilham Aliyev's instructions leads to further enhancement of Shusha's reputation in the world, and this process continues," the official noted.
