Ambassador: Azerbaijan maintains great interest in Arabic language

Azerbaijan maintains great interest in the Arabic language, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan Essam bin Saleh al-Jutaili said at the opening ceremony of the Arabic Language Month in Baku, Report informs.

He noted that in the Middle Ages, Azerbaijani scientists, writers and poets created valuable works in Arabic, making a significant contribution to the development of Islamic culture.

"It is gratifying that today Azerbaijan maintains great interest in the Arabic language: it is currently taught in 10 comprehensive schools and 6 leading universities in the country," the diplomat noted.

Essam bin Saleh al-Jutaili emphasized that the Arabic language will continue to serve as a bridge between cultures and peoples, serve knowledge and science, strengthen identity, cultural diversity, dialogue and world peace.
