Through targeted efforts, the Middle Corridor can be transformed into a fully digital and harmonized route, which will reduce costs and increase transparency, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Tatiana Molchan said at a ministerial roundtable on the sustainable digital Middle Corridor within COP29.
According to Report, she added that the Middle Corridor, connecting Europe and Asia through the Caspian Sea, is one of the strategic routes with great potential for sustainable and digital development.
Molchan also emphasized that against the backdrop of rapid global changes, the transport and trade sectors face unprecedented challenges, from supply chain changes to climate impacts, highlighting the urgent need for digitalization of transport corridors.
