Major powers, such as Germany, must lead in reducing methane emissions and set an example for other countries, Jinsun Roh, head of the Industry and Methane Department at Solutions for Our Climate, during an event focused on methane's role in climate change at COP29.
Report informs that, according to him, reducing methane emissions has significant positive impacts on climate, environmental cleanliness, and human health, therefore it is necessary to adopt special measures and set specific emission reduction targets.
Roh added that the EU Methane Emissions Reduction Regulation alone is not enough, and agriculture and waste management systems must also make significant contributions in this direction.
