Shahbazov: 'We are creating a clean, safe energy legacy for future generations'

Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries are creating a clean, safe energy legacy for future generations, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said at the Investment Forum on Energy Transition in Central Asia held on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku, Report informs.

"Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank the Asian Development Bank for their decision to grant of $225,000 for consulting services on implementing the green energy corridor project, including the preparation of feasibility studies and support for launching the joint venture. We consider the Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor as a vital connection in a large unified green energy platform linked to the planned Caspian Sea-Red Sea-Europe and Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Europe Green Energy Corridors. This concept encompasses the transportation of significant volumes of green energy and hydrogen from Azerbaijan and Central Asia to Turkish and European markets, the integration of main centers of renewable energy production and consumption across vast regions from Asia to Europe, as well as managing and balancing the variability of renewable energy," Shahbazov noted.

According to him, large energy projects not only ensure energy transmission but also create a roadmap for a stable and sustainable future: "Through joint efforts of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, we are creating a clean, safe energy legacy for future generations. The three corridors, built on great energy potential, present extensive opportunities for cooperation among investors, energy companies, and of course, financial institutions. Through this forum, we invite investors and potential partners to join this historic transformation. We hope that this forum and discussions will strengthen the green energy partnership between Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan, and investors, and contribute to the implementation of our joint approach."
