Nigar Arpadarai: Climate change requires strengthened cooperation

The scale of climate change requires expanded cooperation in society and strengthened economic interaction, UN High-Level Climate Champion for COP29 Nigar Arpadarai said in a video address to participants of the event "Developing Climate Action through Global South Cooperation: The Role of NGOs" with participation of representatives from civil society of the Non-Aligned Movement, developing countries, and island states.

According to Report, she noted that climate change is today's reality: "Here in Azerbaijan, we face the problem of water resource scarcity, including the declining level of the Caspian Sea. The climate is changing, and these changes affect individuals, communities, and countries. The COP29 presidency has created an inclusive platform to unite all governmental and non-governmental organizations and various stakeholders. Azerbaijan's mission, as the host country of COP29, is to become a bridge between peoples."
