The disproportionate impact of climate change on children's health and well-being is recognized globally, COP29 Youth Climate Champion Leyla Hasanova said at an event dedicated to the development of climate action and the role of NGOs.

According to Report, she noted that half of the world's children live in countries most vulnerable to climate change, which poses a threat to their health, education, and safety. According to her, studies show that 88% of diseases caused by climate change affect children under 5 years old.

Hasanova also added that Azerbaijan faces heat waves, water shortages, and declining water levels in the Caspian Sea.
