Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have similar ambitions for implementing renewable energy projects, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kurbatov told journalists on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku, according to Report.
"Our strategy is to achieve a 40% share of renewable energy in electricity production by 2030. I know that Azerbaijan has the same ambitions. We are learning from each other's experience and combining our efforts to implement green projects," he noted.
Furthermore, according to the minister, an initiative has been launched today to transfer green energy from Central Asia and the Caucasus across the Black Sea bed to Europe. "We are confident that in the coming years we will be able to implement this historic project, thanks to which Central Asia and Azerbaijan, the Caucasus, will become regions ensuring stable energy supply to the European continent," he concluded.
