ETF participants mull national reports on transparency in Baku

Today in Baku, participants of the second session of the panel held within the framework of said within the High-Level Dialogue: Advancing Climate Transparency through Universal Participation in the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) in Baku, discussed the Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) and Baku Global Climate Transparency Platform, Report informs.

During the discussions, climate experts and official representatives from various countries exchanged views on their preparedness to submit national BTRs. According to the survey results, representatives of 11 countries plan to submit their reports before COP29, three countries during the conference, and 43 countries in December 2024, when the reporting period ends.

The panel moderator emphasized: "We must prepare our countries to submit BTR reports on time. Then we will be able to successfully regulate the climate policy of our countries. This will determine whether we will make progress in combating climate change."

Additionally, panel participants and representatives of individual countries shared their plans and stages of preparing biennial reports.
