Climate change threatens global catastrophe, warns COP29 lead negotiator

If climate change continues on its current trajectory or worsens, the world faces a dire future, COP29 Lead Negotiator Yalchin Rafiyev told a media workshop on effective communication strategies held within the framework of the 29 Climate Conversations: “The Road To COP29” in Baku, Report informs.
Rafiyev emphasized the urgent need for action.
“To prevent this catastrophe, member states of the United Nations, as well as countries party to the Rio Convention and the Paris Agreement, must take serious and results-oriented steps,” Rafiyev stated. “One of the most suitable platforms for taking these steps is the COP events.”
