On November 16, Azerbaijan is set to sign three new agreements with Chinese companies on renewable energy storage systems and energy efficiency, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated during a press conference, held during COP29 in Baku, Report informs.
Shahbazov highlighted that three contracts in the same area have already been inked, adding, "COP29 has been marked by numerous successes demonstrating Azerbaijan's determination in its green energy transformation. These include the groundbreaking ceremony for a solar power plant in East Zangazur, crucial decisions made at the meeting of energy ministers on the Green Energy Corridor, and an agreement reached among Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan on the development and export of green energy."
The minister also noted that Saudi Arabia has been decided to be included in this project. Furthermore, Azerbaijan unveiled its hydrogen strategy and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on cooperation in energy planning under the Paris Agreement.
