Azerbaijan needs to create 250 MW storage to integrate 2 GW of green energy

In order to integrate 2 GW of green energy, Azerbaijan needs a storage facility with a capacity of 250 MW, Elnur Soltanov, Azerbaijani Deputy Energy Minister and COP29 CEO, said during his presentation titled "Solidarity for the Green World - COP29", Report informs.
"We intended to create conditions for storing the first 50 MW of energy in 2024. The decision regarding the remaining 200 MW will be made later, if necessary," he said.
Soltanov added that the project of the green energy storage facility with a total capacity of 250 MW is planned to be implemented by 2027.
