Azerbaijan develops strategy to prevent zoonotic diseases

Azerbaijan has developed a draft National Strategy for 2025-2030 on Prevention and Enhanced Control of Zoonotic Diseases Using the One Health Concept, Zakiya Mustafayeva, deputy chair of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan, said at the One Health Conference event within COP29, Report informs.
She noted that climate change can lead to the spread of new infections.
"In this regard, interaction between relevant sectors is important. In Azerbaijan, they work together to identify zoonotic epidemics and take prompt measures. A draft National Strategy has been developed using a unified platform for crisis management and response," said Mustafayeva.
