Asif Asgarli: Azerbaijan known today as country that set goal to transition to 'green' economy

Azerbaijan is known worldwide not only as an oil and gas exporter, but also as a country that has set a goal to completely switch to green energy and economy, chairman of the public association "Azerbaijan Democratic Student and Youth Organization" Asif Asgarli told journalists on the sidelines of the International Youth Forum, Report informs.

He stressed that Azerbaijan intends to launch green energy supplies to Europe in the near future.

"Large-scale greenhouse gas emissions have an extremely negative impact on the environment. Along with government structures, youth organizations and NGOs should also make efforts to combat climate change. This forum serves to encourage their activities," Asgarli said.
