Asad Majeed Khan: Energy remains among critical areas of cooperation within ECO

Energy remains one of the most important areas of cooperation within the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), organization's Secretary General Asad Majeed Khan said at the opening of the ECO-UNIDO Clean Energy Center in Baku within the framework of COP29, according to Report.

"Over the past few years, we have paid special attention to including sustainable energy transition issues in our energy agenda. We are pleased to see the determination of individual member countries to implement this transition. The establishment of the ECO Clean Energy Center in Baku jointly with UNIDO is an important reflection of our collective will in ECO," Khan said.

He added that the main goal of this project is to expand countries' access to modern affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy services, as well as ensure energy security and mitigate negative impacts on energy.

The opening ceremony of the center took place in Azerbaijan's pavilion in the Blue Zone.
