Azerbaijan posts increase in public catering turnover

The turnover of public catering in Baku, Azerbaijan reached 1.03 billion manats (just under $605.9 million) in the first half of 2024, representing a 7.8-percent increase year-on-year, Report informs, referring to the country’s State Statistical Committee.

Of the total turnover, 9.646 million manats ($5.674 million) accounted for the public sector, and just over 1.02 billion manats (just under $600.2 million) fell to the private sector, which is 10.3% and 7.7% more, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

In the private sector, legal entities contributed 520.9 million manats (just over $336.4 million), accounting for 51.1% of the total turnover. This shows an increase of 8.8 percent from the corresponding period of 2023.

Meanwhile, 48.9% of turnover in the private sector for the reporting period fell to individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activity in this field.
