Ministry: Foreign banking cards exempt form VAT

Baku. 24 January. REPORT.AZ/ Tax Code doesn’t envisage charging tax on electronic commerce transactions for purchase of work and services through use of plastic bank cards of foreign banks. 

Report was informed in the Ministry of Taxes.

The organization states that only cards issued by banks registered in Azerbaijan will be charged VAT for online purchase of services from non-residents: “For online purchase of services from non-residents, VAT is charged on buyer’s account in local bank, Azerbaijan branch of foreign bank and local operator of postal communication operator”.
