Azerbaijan is developing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the field of tourism, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said at the SPECA 2023 economic forum in Baku, Report informs.
“Kyrgyzstan plays a special role in our region. The growth of mutual trade turnover contributes to the expansion of bilateral relations. This year we also created a joint investment fund. The volume of investments made by Azerbaijan in Kyrgyzstan indicates that we are implementing multi-disciplinary projects in this country,” he said.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan plans to build a five-star hotel on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan.
The government of Kyrgyzstan, in turn, pledged to build all the necessary infrastructure around the hotel, including roads. The hotel will be exempt from taxes for the next ten years, and the site on which the hotel will be built will be transferred to Azerbaijan for use for 49 years with the right to extension. Azerbaijan, in turn, undertook to build the hotel within three years. At the same time, according to the commitments, 70% of the hotel employees must be citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
