KOBIA chairman: Azerbaijan may become active participant in int'l creative economy

Azerbaijan can become an active participant in the international creative economy by supporting creative entrepreneurship, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) under the Ministry of Economy Orkhan Mammadov said at the event "Creative Azerbaijan" in Baku, Report informs.

He noted that the development of the creative economy, its integration into other sectors, the introduction of innovative business models are an integral part of Azerbaijan's sustainable development strategy.

Mammadov emphasized that this event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, plays the role of an important platform for holding broad discussions on the development of the creative industry.

He also noted that KOBIA applies a number of important mechanisms to support the activities of entrepreneurs in the creative and cultural sectors, including cinema, design, the gaming industry and other areas.

"KOBIA provides grant financing for projects aimed at developing creative entrepreneurship. Financing for each project is set at 20,000 manats ($11,764), training services are organized in the field of business management, digital marketing, expanding access to global markets, entrepreneurs are provided with consulting services in the field of legal and administrative regulation," he added.
